Division-Partial Quotients
PARENTS: This video shows parents how to do division with the partial quotients method. She does divide a large number, but you can still get the idea of how to do partial quotients. The great thing about partial quotients is that the students don't have to know ALL of their multiplication facts in order to start division. It's a great way to start the students with division and they understand what division is with this method verses the traditional method.
Here's a power point presentation that I created that I hope will help you understand the process of partial quotients. It explains why we used this method and it shows how to do an example problem. It also uses a more basic fact, so it might be a little easier to understand.
